As an Ambassador for SAVe, I am committed to driving the AV industry toward a more sustainable and responsible future. SAVe is dedicated to addressingthe sustainability crisis within the AV sector by promoting better waste management practices, reducing carbon emissions, and finding ways to keep our technology in the loop longer—ultimately reducing e-waste and minimizing the industry’s environmental impact.
The AV industry has historically contributed to environmental degradation through rapid product cycles and a lack of effective recycling systems. In 2019 alone, over 50 million tons of e-waste were generated in North America and Europe. Alarmingly, less than 20% of electronics were recycled. This growing environmental burden calls for urgent action and accountability. By shifting towards sustainable practices, we can significantly reduce our industry’s negative impact on the planet, while improving the health of our businesses and economy.
As an Ambassador, my role is to:
• Advocate for sustainable practices in the AV industry, including responsible waste management and energy-efficient technologies.
• Promote collaboration with industry leaders, NGOs, and governments to develop policies that address e-waste and lifecycle emissions.
• Raise awareness about the importance of sustainability and how individuals and companies can play a role in reducing e-waste and conserving resources.
Our company has an important opportunity to join the movement toward a sustainable AV industry by:
• Supporting Initiatives : By partnering with SAVEAV.org, we can contribute to the development of industry-wide recycling standards and circular economy models.
• Sustainability Practices : Embrace green technologies, reduce our carbon footprint, and ensure responsible disposal and recycling of AV products at the end oftheir life cycles.
• Engaging Employees and Clients: Educate our teams and clients on how to make smarter, more sustainable technology choices.
